Through its policy and procedures on Curation and Repatriation of Human Remains and Cultural Items, UC recognizes that individuals and communities have cultural and religious concerns that must be considered in determining the treatment and disposition of human remains in its collections. The policy also recognizes that the university’s collections of human remains and cultural items serve valuable educational and research purposes important to the enhancement of knowledge in various disciplines.
