The University of California is committed to ensure that proper policies, procedures, and oversight are in place to prevent discriminatory harassment and other discriminatory practices. Sponsors often require that the University provide assurances that policies and practices are in place to protect those engaged in a sponsored research project. Abusive Conduct in the Workplace PDF

UC’s Anti-Discrimination and Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policies Link

The Systemwide Office of Civil Rights – composed of the Systemwide Title IX Office, Systemwide Anti-Discrimination Office, and Systemwide Disability Rights Office – provides systemwide guidance and support on issues related to protecting civil rights at UC’s 10 campuses, medical centers, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), and the UC Office of the President. NIH Training Grants

NIH Notice Number NOT-OD-19-029 requires a letter in institutional training grant applications that describes institutional commitment to ensuring that proper policies, procedures, and oversight are in place to prevent discriminatory harassment and other discriminatory practice. On May 7, 2024, University Provost Katherine Newman issued an updated letter in support of this requirement.
