Service Description
An email service account is a shared email account that can be accessed by multiple people at the same time. For example, ServiceDesk@ucop.edu is a shared email account that is accessed by the IT Service Desk staff, who can all view and manage the email. Sometimes, email service accounts are set up to provide an account for email without using an individual’s name, such as ProvideFeedback@ucop.edu or webmaster@ucop.edu. Note: Automated forwarding of email from UCOP mailboxes to accounts outside of UCOP is not allowed. Users who have a business justification for enabling such forwarding must request an exception through the IT Service Desk.

Use the IT Service Hub to request an email service account.

Eligibility
All UCOP staff, contractors, and other associated personnel with email accounts may request email service accounts.

Cost
The cost of the service is covered by central IT funding.
