UC Controller

As part of the University of California, Office of the President Systemwide Controller’s office, the Capital Assets and Debt Accounting team ensures compliance with all internal and external accounting and reporting requirements. The team develops and modifies the chart of accounts for capital assets, debt and general accounting functions, and oversees debt services processes.

We are essential for accurate financial reporting and the management of UC’s debt and capital assets. We provide comprehensive client services to campuses and medical centers. Our work covers four key areas:

• Compliance and Policy Development: Ensures adherence to Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards and develops accounting policies to maintain regulatory compliance across UC
• Debt Management and Financial Reporting: Oversees UC’s debt management, coordinates financial reporting, and analyzes bond and derivative terms for accurate accounting
• Capital Assets and Depreciation Management: Manages accounting for UC’s capital assets and calculates depreciation to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Technical Guidance and Project Leadership: Provides specialized accounting guidance, leads systemwide projects, and ensures accurate data analysis for informed financial decisions
