Augmenting Selves -- Challenges of Creating Lives and Futures in a Trained and Tracked Digital World
Dr. Johnson, who runs UCLA Herb Alpert School's Center for Music Innovation and two thinktanks on digital life and work, will talk about the many challenges of our hyper-curated, playlisted world of 2019 and beyond. She will discuss the darker underside of how we are being influenced and trained to make major life decisions through our use of everyday technology.

A different poster was displayed each week in October around the UCOP buildings in Oakland to provide a variety of cybersecurity information.

QUIZ AND DRAWING: OCT 30-NOV 9
THIS EVENT HAS PASSED. THE QUIZ IS CLOSED. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED! WINNERS WERE NOTIFIED THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 12.
National Cyber Security Awareness Month at UCOP wraps up with a short online cybersecurity quiz and drawing. This is a fun and easy way for everyone at UCOP to participate in this year’s NCSAM. Questions are based on information from UCOP's NCSAM awareness materials (handouts, posters, videos, and Forum - see below). The quiz opens Tues, Oct 30 and closes on Fri, Nov 9.
- Quiz: The quiz is available at this SurveyGizmo link. The quiz is open 10/30-11/9.
- Drawing: Everyone who completes the quiz by November 9 and provides their @ucop.edu email address will be entered in a random drawing for small prizes. No minimum score is required for the drawing. Winners will be notified the week of November 12.

October 2017 NCSAM Campaign
QUIZ AND RAFFLE: OCT 31-NOV 8
The quiz is closed. Raffle winners were notified the week of November 13. Thank you to everyone who participated!
National Cyber Security Awareness Month at UCOP wrapped up with a short online cybersecurity quiz and raffle -- a fun and easy way for everyone at UCOP to participate in this year’s NCSAM. The quiz was open Tues, Oct 31 - Wed, Nov 8. Questions were based on information from UCOP's NCSAM awareness materials (handouts, posters, and videos - see below).
- Raffle: Everyone with an @ucop.edu email address who completed the quiz by November 8 was entered in a random drawing for small prizes. There was no minimum score required for the drawing. Winners were notified the week of November 13.

There was a cybersecurity information table in the Franklin Building lobby to celebrate the start of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, complete with a webcam cover giveaway, informational handouts, and breakfast bars. Over 200 people picked up items!

Cybersecurity Handout
This 2-page cybersecurity handout (pdf) is a good, general-purpose cybersecurity reference for work and home. It includes "Eight Highly Effective Habits for Cybersecurity," information about reporting suspicious incidents, spam and phishing, and lots of other helpful information.

Brown Bag
A "Cybersecurity Tips and Tricks" Brown Bag talk was held on October 3rd. "Cybersecurity Tips and Tricks" Brown Bag slides are available online. Please contact Julie Goldstein or Jon Good with questions or to request a presentation for your department.
Outreach
Information Security staff were at various UCOP events throughout October talking about cybersecurity.
Poster Series
Posters were displayed throughout the month to bring awareness to Phishing, Ransomware, Mobile Device Security, and Online Privacy.

Throughout the month, a series of blog posts highlighting cybersecurity topics were published by various UC IT staff on the UC IT Blog. “Cybersecurity: Protect yourself and UC”
Friday Breakfast
Information Security staff showed presence at each UCOP locations’ Friday breakfast to distribute flyers with Information Security tips. Attendees had a chance to speak with Information Security Director, Jon Good or Chief Information Security Officer, David Rusting. Franklin attendees were able to enjoy a PowerPoint presentation that highlights safe security practices (pdf).
