UC 2030: Equity is excellence
Educational equity is central to UC’s pursuit of excellence and to meeting the UC 2030 goals of increasing graduates, improving on-time completion, and expanding access. This report details strengthening learning and support throughout the undergraduate curriculum enhances student success overall while reducing disparities for students who are the first in their family to attain a college degree, from low-income backgrounds, and from historically marginalized racial and ethnic groups,
Drawing on campus initiatives and systemwide data, the report reviews strategies that broaden access to effective pedagogy, advising, and experiential learning; remove barriers to timely graduation; and foster belonging and well-being. It documents gains in retention and graduation, growing participation in experiential learning, and UC’s progress toward becoming a minority-serving system.
Appendices provide a quick reference to strategies in use across campuses and to data tools organized by the type of action they inform. Together, these efforts lay the foundation for sustained progress toward UC’s 2030 equity goals.
