Service Description

ITS develops and maintains systems that collect corporate data, and also enables access to this data (including payroll, HR, student, and financial data). ITS staff work with UC personnel to define corporate data needs, develop plans for data collection, develop new corporate data resources and reports, provide regular and ad hoc data reports, support data visualization tools that present data via dashboards and analytical reports, and provide customer training in direct data access and retrieval. ITS supports the following data systems:

• Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW). The CDW is an environment for storage and retrieval of current and historical corporate systems data. Currently, the CDW includes data from the Corporate Financial, Personnel, and Student Systems.
• Decision Support System (DSS). The DSS offers an integrated universal source for systemwide reporting and business intelligence decision making across the University.
• Human Resources & Benefits Datamarts. Various datamarts support reporting, trending, and forecasting functions.

How to Order or Request Support

• Corporate Data. UC personnel may request ad hoc reports and data extracts through the ITS information retrieval service on a recharge basis. To make a request, contact the appropriate analyst listed on the right.
• Direct Customer Access
  • UCOP employees and contractors:
    • Complete the Corporate Systems Access Request form (pdf). Get it signed by their supervisor/manager.
    • Complete a Service Hub form and indicate the corporate system(s) for which they request data warehouse access.
      
      • Request Type: Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW)
      • Request Action: Access Request
      • Attach the signed request form to the Service Now ticket
  • Non-UCOP employees/contractors (e.g., campus personnel or individuals from external organizations):
    • Complete the Corporate Systems Access Request form for Non-UCOP users (pdf). Get it signed by their supervisor/manager.
    • Sign and complete the UCOP User Agreement (pdf).
    • Send both signed documents to dwcshelp@ucop.edu.
  
  Three options are available for direct access:
  • The Corporate Systems Gateway (CSG) provides Web access to standard reports.
  • The WebFOCUS Managed Reporting environment provides a Web Interface for ad hoc reporting.
  • Query tools such as Brio and SAS also may be used.
• DSS Access. Go to the DSS login page. Select your campus location, and submit a brief explanation of the requested access on the request form: For example, “I request access to UCUES data.”
• HRB Access. Submit Access Request to Alisa Hsiu.
  • Access to direct data or existing Corporate Systems Gateway reports is provided at no charge.
  • Data and/or report development is provided on a recharge basis. Please contact the appropriate analyst.

Availability of Service
Data Services and corporate systems are available 24/7. Customer support is available Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Eligibility
Campus and UCOP personnel who need access to systemwide data as part of their job responsibilities.

• Access to direct data or existing Corporate Systems Gateway reports is provided at no charge.
• Data and/or report development is provided on a recharge basis. Please contact the appropriate analyst.
