Expected Outcomes
The expected outcome of the IT assessment will be a UC system that is:
- Better prepared for the digital age
- More deeply aligned with location and system goals
- Better positioned to support cybersecurity
- More effective at collaborating across locations and functions
These outcomes are supported by three key outputs:
- Current State Assessment
- Future State Design and Recommendations
- Implementation Roadmap
The assessment is expected to include:
- Identifying strategic priorities for IT collaboration across the UC system
- Reimagining the IT operating model for how IT units across the UC system work with each other
- Examining and developing recommendations to align the UC technology governance model to the current state of the UC
- Developing recommendations to align the technology governance model within the Office of the President to current state of UCOP
- Providing recommendations to align the technology financial model within the Office of the President to the current state of UCOP
- Evaluating the maturity of key IT processes that enable collaboration across the UC system
- Recommending IT organizational improvements, including the identification of key roles that are currently missing or lacking across UC IT
- Developing a roadmap of prioritized IT opportunities along with the associated benefits
