Through the collaborative strategic planning process, we not only defined our NorthStar but also identified the supporting objectives that will prioritize the needs of others through responsive, thoughtful, and impactful support.
Objective 1 Build a Thriving and Knowledgeable Staff
- Increase Controller staff Net Promoter Score (NPS) through targeted improvements in culture by end of June 2026.
- Develop a cross-training program and implementation strategy.
- Balance workloads within Accounting & Financial Reporting team.
- All Controller staff have participated in, and have had the opportunity to lead, a team learning session by the end of the fiscal year.
Objective 2 Drive Exceptional Stakeholder Satisfaction and Engagement
- Increase Controller’s UCOP and campus stakeholder Net Promoter Score (NPS) through targeted improvements in communications by end of June 2026.
- Create shared inboxes for core stakeholder-facing processes and identify Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for these inboxes by end of October 2025.
- Controller leadership to hold two listening sessions with key location stakeholders
Objective 3 Optimize Operational Effectiveness
- Develop a plan for accounting policy review and updating the project by end of March 2026.
- Provide recommendations to UC Controller leadership on tools to modernize financial operations that add value, are proactive, and increase efficiency.
- Complete four process improvements that prioritize high-impact opportunities.
