Policy Goals

• The UC Healthy Campus Network will review the strengths and gaps in the UC Sustainable Practices Policy and make recommendations for integration based on:
  • Environmental and human health co-benefits.
  • Social, physical and emotional well-being.
  • Health equity.
• By 2025, suppliers that operate or maintain vending machines on UC locations will:
  • Ensure at least 50 percent of the beverages and at least 35 percent of the food in a vending machine meet the UC Healthy Vending Guidelines for Healthy Spend.
• By 2027, suppliers that operate or maintain vending machines on UC locations will:
  • Ensure at least 60 percent of the beverages and at least 40 percent of the food in a vending machine meet the UC Healthy Vending Guidelines for Healthy Spend.
