The Be Smart About Safety Program provides loss prevention and mitigation funding through the UC system.  Annual insurance premiums include an allocation to fund proactive loss prevention and mitigation projects at all UC campuses and medical centers. This funding is intended for projects specific to the purpose of reducing the frequency and severity of potential loss in the workers' compensation, general liability, professional liability, employment liability, auto, and property program areas.
