Travel Management Council

The UC systemwide Travel Management Council works to identify potential cost savings and improve efficiencies for travel. Representation from all UC campuses and labs actively participate in these UC efforts to leverage strengths and opportunities of systemwide travel management while promoting support for the needs of UC travelers.

Council members nominated by UC Controllers and CFOs work under direction of the vice president of UC Financial Management.

Members work in organized teams to provide input and leadership for strategic sourcing travel activities. They develop strategies to strengthen UC travel practices and add value, flexibility, enhanced services, and convenience. The teams focus on:

  • Air travel
  • Hotels
  • Car rental
  • Online booking and travel agency services
  • Systems, data, and policy management
  • Athletic / teams travel

Changes will come in phases, starting with immediate cost savings, then progressing into more challenging areas.
