These policy sections were revised to provide clarification that notice and the opportunity to comment on a preliminary assessment by the Academic Vice Chancellor shall ensue prior to a final decision. In the case of non-reappointment of an Assistant Professor in a major review, when the assessment by the Academic Vice Chancellor is not to promote or differs from the departmental recommendation, access to extradepartmental records and opportunity to comment on the records are provided to the candidate and the department, prior to the final decision. |

APM - 210-4-c(1) and 360 were revised to be consistent with policy revisions issued 8/1/92 to APM - 158 and 160 and 8/26/93 to 220-84-b. These technical changes provide a librarian with access to redacted copies of confidential review records and also provide that a librarian undergoing a career status review be provided preliminary assessment notification and access to and opportunity to comment on records prior to a final decision. |

APM - 220-84-b which was revised 8/26/93 provides preliminary notification and opportunity for an Assistant Professor in a major review to gain access to extradepartmental records and to comment on the records when the assessment is not to promote or differs from the departmental recommendation. APM - 270-84-b, 275-84-b, and 280-84-b that apply to Assistant Professor in Residence, Assistant Professor of Clinical (e.g., Medicine), and Assistant Adjunct Professor in Residence, respectively, have been revised. The terms and conditions of these three series parallel those applicable to the Professor series (APM - 220), and these technical changes ensure consistency of policy across the series. |
