Bangladesh

Outreach to our licensees continues to ensure those sourcing from Bangladesh become members of the Accord and/or Alliance by February 2015.

Updating the UC Code of Conduct for Trademark Licensees

As UC continues to build a socially responsible supply chain the Code is being revised to include language addressing paying a living wage to factory workers producing UC-logoed goods, which will include a reference to, and a requirement for, complying with the California Transparency in Supply Chain Act, if licensees meet the threshold for compliance. The law, effective, January 1, 2012, requires manufacturers and retailers (including potentially UC licensees) to disclose their efforts to eliminate slavery and human trafficking from their supply chains. More on this law.
