2024 Systemwide Clery Act Training

Introduction

At ECAS, our mission is clear: we provide education, guidance, and resources to the University to amplify ethical and compliant behavior, provide assurance, and improve operations through effective controls and processes.

To help fulfill this mission, ECAS hosts an annual systemwide Clery Act training. Each year, the training holds significant importance in fostering a safe and transparent campus environment. By ensuring accurate reporting and communication of crime and safety-related information, we uphold the values of integrity and accountability within our academic community.

In today's dynamic landscape, addressing compliance for healthcare settings within Clery Act training is paramount. Academic health centers, where education seamlessly integrates with healthcare, present unique challenges in crime reporting. Moreover, the intricate structures and interactions within healthcare settings demand specialized attention to Clery Act compliance.

As UC campuses expand and evolve, so do the responsibilities of ensuring Clery Act compliance within healthcare environments. ECAS's commitment to hosting comprehensive training reflects our dedication to providing a secure environment for academic pursuits and healthcare-related activities.

This year’s training program is strategically designed with a dual focus:

  1. Track 1 - Elevating Understanding and Exploring Best Practices for Effective Implementation at the University Campus
  2. Track 2 - Charting Compliance: Navigating Clery Act Essentials in Academic Healthcare Settings
