Experience

Tim Hoppe joined UC Legal, Office of the General Counsel in 2024.  As a Principal Counsel in the Labor, Employment, and Benefits practice group, Mr. Hoppe advises on a wide range of employment, personnel, and labor relations issues.  He also handles matters in the Non-Litigated Employment Practices Liability risk program.

Prior to joining the Office of the General Counsel, Mr. Hoppe was a Partner in the San Francisco office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. In addition to his employment litigation portfolio, Tim advised clients on compliance with state, federal, and local employment laws, managed internal and governmental investigations, and handled labor arbitrations and related labor disputes.  Tim also clerked for the Honorable William E. Smith on the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island.  Prior to law school, Tim served as the Legislative and Budget Director for a state senator in Boston, Massachusetts.
