Julie Conner

Deputy Campus Counsel, Office of Legal Affairs, UC Berkeley

Julie Conner has served as Deputy Campus Counsel at UC Berkeley since 2018 and has been an attorney at UC Berkeley since 2009.  Julie advises UC Berkeley’s Administration on a broad range of legal issues, with a primary focus on supporting Intercollegiate Athletics, Cal Performances, intellectual property and the campus's significant transactional matters.  Julie also advises on real estate, student affairs, library law, business affairs, research misconduct and electronic communications. Prior to joining UC Berkeley, Ms. Conner served as Senior Advisor and Legal Director for the UC San Diego Library System and as Associate Campus Counsel for UC San Diego. Before joining the University of California, Ms. Conner clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and worked for several years at Latham & Watkins.

Ms. Conner earned her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and her law degree from the University of Chicago, where she was Articles Editor for the Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. 

Outside of the office, Ms. Conner administers Champions Soccer, a soccer league for youth with disabilities, and recently ended her tenure as a Board member for Girls Inc. of the Island City, a non-profit focused on empowering young women through programs and hands-on experiences.
