Experience 

Briana Megid joined the Office of the General Counsel in 2026 as Assistant Counsel in the Health Affairs, Privacy and Data Protection practice group. Prior to joining the University, Briana managed an active case load of disability and social service matters for Legal Aid of North Carolina's Medical Legal Partnership. While attending law school, Briana served as a team lead in Duke's Health Justice and First Amendment Clinics while pursuing a research assistantship exploring the ethical integration and potential liability frameworks of AI-based tools. Before attending law school, Briana spent several years in public affairs and policy, including as a Public Affairs Manager at DoorDash and as a Senior Policy Advisory on U.S. Senator Alex Padilla's transition team.
