Legislative advocacy

The UC Health Legislation and Policy unit conducts research, review and analysis of state and federal legislation, regulatory and licensing issues, as well as internal university policies with regard to systemwide divisional perspectives on health sciences education, clinical care, related professional training and health research.

We coordinate closely with UC's government relations offices in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., and with campus-based legislative advocacy units to advance the university's legislative and policy agenda. We work closely with UC faculty, hospital healthcare providers, researchers and administrators to ensure that UC's legislation and policy positions are informed by their concerns.

The Legislation and Policy unit advises the division and university leadership regarding political and policy strategy and as needed, coordinates special policy and legislative projects undertaken by the division.
