Unmanned Aircraft Systems Advisory Board
The University of California Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Advisory Board is comprised of representatives of the UC Academic Senate, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Natural Reserve System, National Laboratories, External Relations and Communications, Student Affairs, Capital Projects, Research and Graduate Studies, and the Office of the President.
The UAS Advisory Board works to review and develop policies related to the use and development of unmanned aircraft systems. The growth of UAS has had a wide impact across the UC system. While the diversity of users and use-cases showcase's the UC's exemplary promise of cutting edge research, it also is indicative of the challenges to ensuring regulatory compliance, public safety, and privacy rights at UC locations. The UAS Advisory Board is convened to provide guidance and review of UAS policies to ensure the right balance is struck as the technology and regulations continue to evolve.
