Global Climate Leadership Council

The Global Climate Leadership Council was formed in 2014 to advise UC on its ambitious climate goals and to provide guidance on integrating the University’s sustainability goals into its teaching, research and public service mission.

The council is comprised of faculty, administrators, students and experts from inside and outside UC. Its focus spans energy services, applied research, communications and government relations, faculty engagement, student engagement, policy, climate action planning, climate equity and justice, UC Health and financial strategies. Additionally, the council engages the entire University community in its effort to seek out the best practices, policies and technology to pursue a fossil-free future.

Pathways to Fossil Free UC Task Force

UC President Michael V. Drake, M.D., appointed the Pathways to Fossil Free UC Task Force in October 2022 under the auspices of the GCLC.
