UC Staff Culture Labs

UC Staff Culture Labs are facilitated listening sessions and an early part of the emerging UC Staff Culture Assessment Initiative. The initial Labs will bring together policy-covered staff at participating locations to explore the values and cultural norms that connect us, what helps employees thrive, and how UC can intentionally strengthen its culture for the future.

The initial Staff Culture Labs will take place on the following dates:

• UC San Diego Health — Tuesday, October 13, 2026
• UC San Diego — Wednesday, October 14, 2026
• UC Riverside — Thursday, October 15, 2026, and Tuesday, October 20, 2026

Each Lab will be facilitated to support respectful, candid participation. Staff perspectives will help Systemwide Human Resources better understand the experiences, strengths, and opportunities shaping workplace culture across UC. Insights from the Labs and other parts of the initiative will be considered as shared themes and will help inform the broader culture strategy. Additional Labs will be scheduled over the next several months to expand participation opportunities to more UC locations.

A Systemwide Advisory Committee will guide this work and consider both shared experiences across UC and perspectives unique to each location. For questions, please contact Angela Song-Ruiter.
