2021-22 GFI student ambassador fellow

Marcela’s project aims to investigate various biomarkers of health in college students utilizing food access resources. The objective of the study is to analyze biomarkers found in blood and skin, and measure dietary intake through 24-hour NDSR recalls and Diet IDä to determine if food access programs at the University of California, Davis increase biomarkers for health and fruit and vegetable consumption compared to students who are not utilizing on-campus food access resources. This study is a continuation of a previous GFI project in 2019-2020 that was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
