Legislative and Communications Specialist
Nicole Carlotto is the Legislative and Communications Specialist for the University of California Office of Federal Governmental Relations (FGR), a role she has held since September 2015. Prior to joining FGR, Nicole worked for the George Washington University (GW) as a media relations associate where she helped lead the media outreach efforts for the grand opening of the George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum. Before joining GW, Nicole held a number of positions with U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, including press assistant, intern coordinator and special assistant to the chief of staff and legislative director. Nicole is a California native and received her master’s degree in Strategic Public Relations from GW and her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UC Berkeley.
Nicole is responsible for:
- External and internal communications (DC, national, federal governmental related and national labs)
- Strategic communications and advocacy
- Alumni relations (DC)
