Project Abstract
Like many divisions, UC Santa Barbara’s Social Sciences Division has experienced obstacles to removing barriers that hinder the success of URG faculty. The Division has more URG faculty than others on campus, but they report greater inequities than faculty in other divisions, despite efforts to address these issues. This project includes three interventions addressing the Department of Communication, the Division of Social Sciences, and the UC Santa Barbara campus: tailored and facilitated DE&I workshops in the department of communications, a division-level DE&I monitoring working group, and an annual DE&I conference scheduled for April 2021.
