UCOP Facilities Overview

The Building and Administrative Service Center (BASC) Real Estate and Finance department is responsible for the fiscal management of all owned and leased UCOP facilities that facilitate day-to-day operations. The Real Estate and Finance team’s primary responsibilities include:

  • Acquisition of land and buildings to support UCOP’s key initiatives
  • Lease agreements to meet the space needs for strategic programs
  • Property portfolio management of UCOP owned and leased office buildings, housing and parking facilities
  • Capital programs planning and UC Regents approval for UCOP’s minor and major capital projects
  • Management of UCOP’s long- and short-term debt
  • Development of the annual budget for operations and maintenance of UCOP-managed buildings, administrative services, and the President’s residence
  • Administration of the UCOP Parking and Transportation Program
  • Servicing of operational, personnel & financial transactions for vendors that support BASC operations

1111 Franklin Street, Oakland, CA

1111 Franklin StreetBuilt in 1998 by the university, the 1111 Franklin building is part of the  Franklin-Broadway Campus in downtown Oakland. The 12-story building house the University of California, Office of the Presidents, and provides office space and parking to its staff.

1100 Broadway Street, Oakland, CA

1100 BroadwayAdjacent to the 1111 Franklin Street property, the 1100 Broadway Building is Part of the Franklin-Broadway Campus in downtown Oakland. The UC Office of the President has leased select floors in the building to consolidate its staff and operations.

14350 Meridian Parkway, Riverside, CA – UCPath Center

14350 Meridian ParkwayLocated at 14350 Meridian Parkway, Riverside Campus, The Intellicenter building is home to UCPath, a transactional hub for human resources, payroll, benefits, general ledger, workforce administration and academic processes across the entire University of California system. It serves more than 200,000 employees from each UC campus and medical center as well as vendors, location administrators, and policy makers from the University of California, Office of the President.

1130 K St. Sacramento, CA 95814 – State Governmental Relations

1130 K St. SacramentoUCOP State Governmental Relations (SGR) is located in the K St. building on the Sacramento Campus.  The group serves to advance understanding and support for UC's tripartite mission of teaching, research and public service. As UC's principal representative to state elected officials and state agencies in Sacramento, they represent university positions on legislative, budgetary and policy matters.

608 Rhode Island Ave NW, Washington. DC – UCDC

608 Rhode IslandThe UC Washington Center (UCDC) is a multi-campus residential, instructional and research center that provides students and faculty from the University of California with opportunities to study, research, work and live within Washington’s rich cultural, political and international heritage. The program is housed in an 11-story building in a lively neighborhood a short walk from the White House with room for more than 270 students. The Center is also home to several research units of the University of California including the Forum for Collaborative Research/University of California, Berkeley, Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH), Student Press Law Center and the Inter-University Program for Latino Research (IUPLR) as well as the Office of Federal Governmental Relations, the University's liaison with Congress and the federal government.

1115 11th Street, Sacramento, CA

1115 11th StreetThe 1115 11th Street property in downtown Sacramento was acquired in 2019 to provide general assignment classrooms and associated faculty and administrative office space to support the UC Center Sacramento (UCCS) program. It is operated by UC Davis.

661 East Gate Drive, Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, CA – Hertz Hall 

661 East Gate DriveThe Hertz Hall Complex is a set of three university-owned buildings on a site administered through a 50-year ground lease between the Department of Energy (DOE)/National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and The Regents of the University of California.  The building complex is located within the Livermore Valley Open Campus (LVOC), along the eastern edge of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), in Livermore, California.

UC Center Sacramento Residences: 6400 Folsom Blvd. – Upper East Side Lofts (UESL) –  and 19TH St. and J St., Sacramento, CA

6400 Folsom Blvd. These two buildings serve as residence halls for students enrolled in the UC Center Sacramento.  The program supports the university’s mission of teaching, research and public service with an integrated program to train future state leaders, address challenging public-policy issues confronted by the nation and state, and carry out the university’s mandate to assist state government.  The program’s location in the state capital and applied learning opportunities afford students interested in government a unique learning opportunity.
