Systemwide Anti-Discrimination Office
The Systemwide Anti-Discrimination Office within the Systemwide Office of Civil Rights (SOCR) oversees the university’s responsibilities and procedures as set forth in the Anti-Discrimination Policy related to discrimination and harassment on the basis of protected categories and related retaliation to ensure equitable and inclusive education, employment, and patient care environments.
The Systemwide Anti-Discrimination Office provides guidance and support to the campus and location offices responsible for preventing and responding to reports of discrimination and harassment on the basis of protected categories (e.g. race, national or ethnic origin, religion, disability, etc.) under the Anti-Discrimination Policy at UC’s 10 campuses, medical centers, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), and the UC Office of the President. We provide investigative guidance and develop and deliver education and training to these civil rights offices as well as other university partners involved in preventing and responding to discrimination and harassment based on protected categories. We assist in implementing systemwide initiatives and best practices in discrimination and harassment prevention and response.
