Clinical Strategy and Operations

The Clinical Strategy & Operations (CSO) department provides strategic and operational support to oversee the work of UC Cancer Consortium, Long COVID education program, UC Population Health and Student Health & Counseling. The department develops and supports implementation of systemwide clinical policy, and other high priority clinical and strategic health care projects and initiatives. CSO also ensures there is alignment with UC Health strategic goals, values, and it works to further the system's impact on advancing health equity.  

UC has one of the largest public academic health systems in the nation. The CSO department builds collaboration across the University's six academic health centers, working closely with the Chief Medical Officer/Chief Nursing Officer (CMO/CNO) group, UCH Clinical Quality Committee (CQC), UCH's California Medical Association delegation, OBGYN Chairs and Family Planning Directors, Long COVID Working Group, Chief Quality Officer (CQO) group. The CSO team’s experienced professionals contribute expertise to UC Health Policy and Regulatory Affairs and additional groups.
