Katy Eyberg

GFI Fellow - Class of 2018

Graduate student, public health
UCLA

DESCRIPTION

Katy is focused on Proposition 64: Investigating and Addressing its Health Impacts for this fellowship. Proposition 64 was passed in 2016 and set to be implemented in January 2018 setting the path to the complexities of implementing legalized recreational marijuana in California. This project’s purpose is to analyze how UCLA’s strategic assets can be leveraged to respond to Proposition 64 in a way that maximizes benefit and mitigates harm to individuals, businesses, government and the environment. Katy’s analysis will culminate in a community-informed consulting report with recommendations on campus-based initiatives, with a special focus on educational priorities. This project hopes to create a robust foundation upon which UCLA and other institutions can implement strong efforts related to Proposition 64.
