Systemwide Disability Rights Office
The Systemwide Disability Rights Office within the Systemwide Office of Civil Rights (SOCR) addresses the university’s obligation to prevent and address disability discrimination in all university programs and services.
The Systemwide Disability Rights Office (SDRO) in SOCR provides direction and support for UC ADA/504 Coordinators, Disability Student Services (DSS), Disability Management Services for employees (DMS), Patient Experience (PR), and Local Implementation Officers (LIO) at the university’s 10 campuses and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), and academic medical centers, as well as the Office of the President. The SDRO assists in implementing systemwide initiatives and best practices and delivers education and training to address compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and other federal and state laws aiming to make the University a community model for supporting and welcoming individuals with disabilities.
