The objective of the UCOP compensation program is to establish salary rates comparable to the market and assist managers with salary decisions that help recruit, retain, and motivate highly qualified employees.

Classification

Salary and pay
The Compensation Unit oversees the pay programs for all staff employees covered by Personnel Policies for Staff Members (PPSM) and various collective bargaining units.
STAR Program
Staff Appreciation and Recognition planAllows managers to give one-time cash awards to staff below the executive level in recognition of exemplary performance and contributions which further operational and administrative improvements.
Compensatory Time Off (CTO) election
Non-exempt employees at UCOP have the option to elect either compensatory time off or monetary payment for any overtime worked.
