  1. Request an Intern
    • Complete Intern Intake Form
    • Create or update intern job description
    • Obtain funding approval through your department’s position control process (UCOP only)
  2. Post Jobs
    • All jobs posted by the end of January
    • Develop interview questions & program goals
  3. Interviews
    • UCOP: Managers review applicants’ resumes, conduct phone screens, & interview candidates
    • UCPath: Recruiters & hiring managers review applicants’ resumes & digital interviews, and interview candidates
    • Both: HMs inquire about any campus jobs applicants may have during phone screens
  4. Selections
    • Hiring managers select final candidates
    • Work with HR to send offer letters, submit background checks, set up payroll, and facilitate onboarding
    • Recruiters inquire about CPT authorization for F-1 students
  5. Offer Letters & Background Checks
    • All offers will be made by the last week of March
    • All offer letters should be signed and completed by April
    • Background Checks should be in progress at this point & must be cleared prior to the intern’s start date
