The University has made technical changes to the Administrative Guidelines for Campus Foundations (last issued April 18, 2002) and the Administrative Guidelines for Support Groups (last issued January 9, 2004) to comply with new Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) guidelines. The changes reflect the requirement that campus foundations must now submit audited financial statements and other financial information to the University no later than September 15 of each year so that information may be incorporated into the University's Annual Financial Report. Previously, under the Guidelines this information was not required to be submitted to the University until October 31 of each year.
These changes will apply to the University's 2003-04 Financial Report. Reporting details will be found in the Campus Foundation Financial Reporting Package that was jointly developed by Financial Management and foundation financial staff over the past year. Campus Controllers and foundation financial staff are familiar with this reporting package. Questions on the reporting guidelines should be directed to Assistant Vice President John Plotts.
