Mission Statement

UCOP-BSFO strives to maintain a network of communication amongst Black employees at UCOP, specifically promoting an environment that supports the well-being, enrichment, and professional development of OP’s Black staff and faculty.

Goals

  • Foster and strengthen relationships amongst Black staff and faculty within UCOP, surrounding campuses, and local communities.
  • Sponsor cultural, educational, and celebratory programming throughout the year.
  • Partner with UCOP ERG groups and other entities (i.e., campus BSFO chapters, other UC groups with aligned missions) to coordinate on programming and address/elevate social justice topics.
  • Encourage recruitment, retention, staff advancement, and career opportunities of Black Staff and Faculty.

BSFO Accomplishments for 2023 - 2024

As BSFO leaders, Joyce and Roni strive to bring information to BSFO members to inform and educate, on our history, health, wealth, participate in local community events and keep current events at the forefront of the planning of our new and annual events. We strongly represent the University to keep our presence known in the community. BSFOs 2023-2024 year was very successful as we boldly went where BSFO has not gone before!  Here are our accomplishments.
