Business Operations
Overview
Immediate Office of the Executive Vice President: regulatory reform; corporate strategic business
initiatives; legislative initiatives and analysis; University infrastructure development, renewal
and sustainability; Universitywide Policy coordination; Board of Regents Agenda coordination; Public
Safety coordination and advocacy; oversight of Office of the President administrative operations.
Alumni Affairs, Special Events & Protocol: increases the involvement of alumni in supporting the University of California, through the support of the UC alumni associations and their missions, the stewardship of the AAUC and the sponsorship of all UC alumni programs and services for all the UC alumni associations and their alumni.
Facilities Administration: Coordinates Universitywide activities pertaining to real property purchase,
sale and lease; long-range campus development; project design, construction and administration; plant and
facilities operations and maintenance; infrastructure sustainability and environmental due diligence;
regulatory analysis and implementation; Office of the President building services and space planning.
Financial Management: Enterprise-wide controls and accountability structures; corporate accounting,
payroll and tax services; sponsored project overhead costing and analysis; strategic business and financial
analysis; risk analysis, management and prevention, including occupational health and safety; strategic
sourcing; Office of the President budget management.
Human Resources and Benefits: Development of staff employee compensation and staff employee policy,
including Senior Management program; management of system-wide employee relations activities including
diversity and EEO/AA compliance and labor contract negotiations; development and coordination of benefits
for faculty and staff, encompassing health and welfare coverage accounting and administration, retirement
system and investment program administration, corporate self-insured programs; Office of the President
personnel and benefits services.
Information Resources and Communications: Strategic planning and policy development for University
information resources; enterprise-wide communications infrastructure planning; application systems
development and maintenance, including the California Digital Library project; University records
management policy; Office of the President workstation support, computing services, and voice services.
Institutional Advancement: articulates, facilitates and encourages financial and other support for the maintenance and enhancement of the University's capacity to fulfill its mission of teaching, research and public service.
Treasurer of The Regents: The Treasurer of The Regents is a corporate officer of the University
of California and is responsible for managing the investments and cash of the University of California system.
