Information Technology Services
The Immediate Office of the Associate Vice President is responsible for a broad range of departmental, UCOP, and systemwide activities. These include
IT strategic planning, Client services, Information security and privacy, Information management and technology policy, IT project management, Records management services, FCC license coordination, departmental administration.
The AVP is a member of the IT Leadership Council, which is composed of the campus, medical center, and national laboratory chief information officers and/or central IT leadership. The ITLC works in partnership with UC leaders across the system and at the Office of the President to articulate goals, strategies, and priorities for investment in and deployment of technology-based solutions that support the University's missions of teaching, research, public service, and patient care.
The AVP serves on the Board of the Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California (CENIC), a membership-based organization that provides high-bandwidth, high-capacity network services for K-20 education institutions in California, and links to national networks.
