iPhone/iPad Users Should Install Update
February 25, 2013
To: UCOP Community
From: Shirley Bittlingmeier, ITS Client Services OfficerVersion 6.1 of Apple’s iOS has been causing Outlook calendar sync and battery life problems for iPhone and iPad users. Apple has now solved the problem and provided an update (vs. 6.1.2) for all iPhones/iPads in the “Settings – General – Software Update” menu. Please immediately download and install update 6.1.2. After installing the update, you will be able to manage your UCOP calendar from your iPhone or iPad.
If you continue to use the older version 6.1, your UCOP account may cause significant server traffic problems. In that case, your account connection to the device may be suspended and you will be notified via an IT Service Hub ticket. You will need to contact the IT Service Desk to get your account re-activated.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact the IT Service Desk at 987-0457 or ServiceDesk@ucop.edu.
