Technology Asset Management Program (UCOP)
Desktop/laptop computing equipment for use at UCOP Oakland locations is centrally purchased, deployed, and managed through the Technology Asset Management Program (TAMP). ITS selects standard computing bundles for normal UCOP business use, tracks inventory, and replaces computers at the end of their service life. Program benefits include lower computer purchase cost, streamlined purchase and deployment, in-warranty computers for staff, short-term laptop loans, license compliance for standard software, and computer spend management.
UCOP supports a standardized PC environment.
UCOP personnel receive a standard computing bundle including software.
Departments pay a monthly fee per individual for standard IT Services.
Nonstandard equipment purchases must have a business justification
ITS tracks and reports on desktop computing assets.
Loaner laptops are available for occasional business need.
UC policy requires a signed agreement for use of mobile devices.
