Customer / equipment profiles

The Anytime/Anywhere Access environment is designed to be flexible and to support a range of needs. Your job function and the way you work will determine the exact configuration of your computing environment, as well as which type of UC owned device you receive:

  • Thin client. A thin client is a device that has no storage capacity. It simply provides the means to connect to a server to access applications or files stored in the cloud. It is used with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. ITS can repurpose existing desktops and laptops to function as thin clients, thus avoiding unnecessary costs.
  • Repurposed computers. Existing, properly functioning equipment will be repurposed if possible (this applies to PCs or Macs).
  • New computer purchases. New equipment will be purchased for new personnel, or to replace existing equipment that does not function properly or no longer meets someone’s needs.
