Retiree Insurance Program
The Retiree Insurance Program unit administers insurance services for the university's retiree, survivor and disabled member populations covered by the university's retirement plan.
The unit performs benefit and insurance payment-related functions in support of UC's medical, dental and legal plans and works closely with plan carriers to establish new and service existing member insurance accounts. The unit is the primary contact for verification of eligibility for insurance coverage and premiums and for coordination of Medicare plan enrollment in compliance with UC/Medicare's business rules.
Additionally, the unit communicates, mitigates and negotiates Medicare Secondary Payer claims for all UC locations and partners with Customer Service for Retiree Open Enrollment.
