Customer Service and Records Management
Customer
Service receives inquiries via telephone, email and written correspondence. The
population served is extensive, with approximately 59,000 retirees and 33,000
former employees who are vested in the University of California Retirement Plan
(UCRP). The unit also fields questions from the active UC employee population
which numbers approximately 185,000 systemwide. The Customer Service Center is
also the primary point of contact for Benefits Offices systemwide. The majority
of inquiries received falls into three major areas: UCRP, health and welfare
benefits and the UC retirement savings program. Additionally, Records
Management receives, electronically scans, and files over 850,000 pages of
documents annually.
