At the graduate level African Americans/Blacks are extremely under-represented in UC graduate and professional programs. UC seeks to improve the representation of this population by investing in relationships and efforts between UC faculty and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

The California Forum for Diversity in Graduate Education Link

The Forum allows underrepresented students to explore graduate opportunities and resources by participating in numerous workshops at a day-long event.

Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholars (CSU) Link

This program is designed to support the doctoral aspirations of individuals who are current upper-division or graduate students in the CSU. Economically and educationally disadvantaged students, along with leaders of tomorrow, are encouraged to apply. UC partners with the program to introduce participants to student research opportunities at the ten UC campuses.
