PROJECT

Recommendations for Selecting Climate Models for the Analysis of Chill Hours in California's Central Valley

DESCRIPTION

Kripa's project, entitled “Recommendations for Selecting Climate Models for the Analysis of Chill Hours in California's Central Valley,” will investigate how the choice of general circulation models (GCMs) can impact predictions of chill hours in California's Central Valley. It also will analyze whether there is a subset of GCMs that are better suited for analysis of chill hours in this region. This project will provide recommendations to researchers and agricultural decision-makers on appropriate selection of climate models for chill hours analysis. The results would be a step forward in efforts to provide farmers with the best available climate information for their specific local needs.
