Jennifer Chin

Counsel

Jennifer Chin joined the Office of General Counsel in 2012 as Counsel in the Labor and Employment practice group. Prior to joining the office, she worked for six years as a Deputy City Attorney in the Oakland City Attorney's labor and employment unit where she handled a broad range of matters for the City Council and many City departments. Prior to joining the City Attorney’s office, Ms. Chin practiced in the San Francisco office of Thelen Reid & Priest in their Labor and Employment Group handling employment litigation and advice.

Ms. Chin earned her undergraduate degree from Stanford University (B.A., 1996) and her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School (J.D. 2000), where she was an editor of the Michigan Journal of Gender and Law. After law school, Ms. Chin clerked for the Honorable Martin Jenkins of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
