Analyst, College Access and Preparation

Charlene Hughes is the Program Analyst for College Access and Preparation. Hughes brings to her work in K-12 an extensive background in project management, operations, student transcript evaluation, program budgeting and customer relations.   Hughes has been with the University for 6 years, starting her career in Undergraduate Admissions with the Eligibility in the Local Context (ELC) program and Transcript Evaluation Service (TES).

In her current position Hughes leads the design, implementation and performance specifications for TES, working directly with stakeholders, schools and other state agencies to provide service and educational guidance to the students of California. In an academic year, Hughes oversees the successful evaluation of over 250,000 student transcripts from high schools through-out California. She also facilitates the coordination of the ten UC directors for the Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP), UC's largest academic preparation program. Hughes also serves as liaison to Student Affairs to support the University of California Curriculum Integration (UCCI) Institutes, which focus on the integration of Career Technical Education (CTE) and "a-g" curriculum.

Hughes has a B.S. in Industrial and Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
