Statewide analysis

The number of "a-g" approved secondary Business Education courses increased statewide from 1071 to 1097, an increase of 2.3 percent compared to last year. Of the 1361 public comprehensive and alternative high schools in California, 537 or 39.4 percent have one or more "a-g" approved Business Education course. Presently, there are 7389 Business Education courses offered statewide of which 14.8 percent meet the “a-g” subject requirements.

A-G subject requirements

In analyzing the “a-g” subject requirements, Business Education courses are approved in all areas except the laboratory science (“d”) and language other than English (“e”) subject areas. There was a substantial increase (31 percent) from the previous year in courses approved in the “c” subject area.
