Statewide analysis

The number of UC-approved secondary Business Education courses increased statewide from 998 to 1071, an increase of 6.8 percent compared to last year. Of the 1334 public comprehensive and alternative high schools in California, 518 or 38.8 percent have one or more UC-approved Business Education course. Presently, there are 10,523 Business Education courses offered statewide of which 10.1 percent meet the “a-g” subject requirements.

A-G subject requirements

In analyzing the “a-g” subject requirements, Business Education courses are approved in all areas except the laboratory science (“d”) and language other than English (“e”) subject areas. There was a substantial increase (40 percent) from the previous year in courses approved in the “c” subject area.
