Statewide analysis

The number of "a-g" approved secondary Arts, Media and Entertainment courses increased statewide from 4256 to 4399, an increase of 3.2 percent compared to last year. Of the 1361 public comprehensive and alternative high schools in California, 1020 or 74.9 percent have one or more "a-g" approved Arts, Media and Entertainment course. Presently, there are 5524 Arts, Media and Entertainment courses offered statewide of which 79.6 percent meet the “a-g” subject requirements.

A-G subject requirements

In analyzing the “a-g” subject requirements, Arts, Media and Entertainment courses are approved in all areas except the history / social science (“a”), laboratory science (“d”) and language other than English (“e”) subject areas.
