The Real Estate Services Group (RESG) developed the University of California Seismic Safety Policy for leased and purchased buildings to apply the general policy to purchases and leases of off-campus facilities.

To ensure that seismic safety and other structural considerations are fully incorporated into purchase and lease decisions, the university has adopted a unified policy on the subject.

The latest update (linked below) replaces the Policy on Seismic Safety - 1/17/1995, the Seismic Safety Policy for Leased and Purchased Buildings - 6/29/2007.
